Md. Monirul Islam, FCA

An experienced Chartered Accountant with more than 20 years of experience in Corporate & Investment Banking in Asia and Europe. Qualified from KPMG, Dhaka, Bangladesh, in 2007, where Mr. Islam worked from June 2004 to September 2009. During his tenure with KPM Bangladesh, Mr. Islam handled several leading local and multinational companies, such as HSBC Bangladesh, Citibank, Banglalink Telecom, Agrani Bank, Prime Bank, the City Bank, UCB Bank (portfolio audit), Asian Paints, Renata Limited, Danida, Crown Agent, Islamic Relief, BRAC, ASA, Proshika, PKSF, World Bank special audit, and many other audit and advisory services at KPMG.

Mr. Islam led the business segments of Alternative Investments (Venture Capital, Private Equity, and M&A) at UCB Alternative Investments, a division of United Commercial Bank, from 2021 to 2024. Prior to UCB, he was the Managing Director of BDV AMC of BD Ventures Limited. Mr. Islam also led Investment Banking, Structured Finance, Private Equity, and Merger & Acquisition as the Director and Head of Corporate and Institutional Banking of BRAC EPL Investments Limited, a 100% owned subsidiary of BRAC Bank Limited. BRAC Bank is one of the leading commercial banks in Bangladesh with a market capitalization of USD 1.13 billion (October 2025). Mr. Islam attained a wide range of experiences in debt and equity capital markets with particular focus on local and cross-border loan syndication, project finance, private equity, mergers & acquisitions worth more than BDT 20 billion across various sectors, including power and energy, finance, mobile financial services, textile, pharmaceuticals, chemical, etc. He was actively engaged as the advisor to the Dhaka Stock Exchange in preparing the demutualization scheme and business plan, conducting valuation to successfully complete the fastest demutualization in the world. Under his supervision, the Structured Finance team in BRAC EPL Investments Limited raised debt worth up to USD 120 million for the largest infrastructure project, the Dhaka Elevated Expressway. Mr. Islam has pursued advanced training in leadership and financial systems, including Nine Conversations in Leadership – A Worldview Intervention, the Accelerated Leadership Program at Marie Stopes International in London, Development Banking at South Shore Bank in Chicago, and Asset & Liability Management at the Economic Institute in Boulder, Colorado. These experiences have enriched his strategic approach and technical acumen, enabling him to guide organizations through complex transitions. Notably, he served as Country Director of Marie Stopes Bangladesh and Acting President of PROSHIKA during periods of financial crisis, stabilizing operations and restoring donor confidence. Dr. AKM Moazzem Hussain

Dr. AKM Moazzem Hussain is a man of versatile knowledge & experiences on extensive experience. He obtained a BE, ME, and Dr. Eng. in Naval Architecture (1961-71) from the Division of Engineering, University of Tokyo, and received practical training at IHI Shipyard and Nippon Steel Corporation. Mr. Hussain has been extending Advisory and Consultancy Services, as and when required, to the Government of Bangladesh, the Embassy of Japan in Dhaka, JETRO Dhaka Office, JICA Bangladesh Office, and a number of Japanese Companies in Bangladesh since 1972.

Afrin Haque, AIAA

Ms. Haque is an associate of the Actuaries Institute of Australia (AIAA). She obtained her double bachelor's in Actuarial Studies and Computing from Macquarie University, Australia. She has contributed efficiently to the areas of actuarial services in fintech, investment, life insurance services, and pension, both locally and abroad. She worked for various clients in Australia, including Lazard Asset Management, Ausbil, Insync Fund Managers, etc., and contributed to assessing fund performance based on actuarial standards. She also worked as the pricing lead of a multinational company where she contributed directly to conducting actuarial analysis, building an actuarial model, checking financial position, and assessing the feasibility of various financial products. Previously, she served American Life Insurance Company and supervised and monitored a team with excellent quality services. Besides her Actuarial strengths, she has a sound knowledge of computer programming, which she utilizes to improve the efficiency and accuracy of her services. Her expertise covers advising stakeholders on risk management, financial feasibility, pricing, and valuation of financial products. Currently, she is the only female actuary working in the country.
